Sun Myung Moon’s organization has scheduled another event on Capitol Hill

Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Two of Sun Myung Moon’s organizations and a third group, Peace X Peace, have scheduled an event on Capitol Hill in the Rayburn Office Building for March 12. The invitations claim that “Congresswomen” - who are to be determined - will participate. Moon’s Universal Peace Federation website reported on Feb 19 that “two key members of Congress” will speak.

[Update 1 - The invitation now lists Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (TX) as one of the speakers]

[Update 2 on March 12 - Congresswoman Johnson's name was taken off the invitation. There are no longer any references to any congresswomen speaking on the invitation.]

As you may recall, Moon was crowned in the Dirksen Building on March 23, 2004 in a ceremony which the Moon organization said represented him being named the “King of Peace” and also that America was “surrendering” to Moon. In our opinion, people misinterpret how Moon sees these things. In his mind, since he had spent time, effort, the labor of his followers and billions of overseas dollars promoting right wing and theocratic politics in America over the previous quarter century, and it was 2004 when his efforts were riding high, it was not that far fetched of a claim. Frankly, sadly, he has a point. Moon has played an integral role in the rise and molding today’s conservative movement in America.

Weeks after the 2004 Moon crowning event, former Sen. John Warner admitted that he arranged for the Dirksen government office to be used by Moon. It will be interesting to see who signed for the Rayburn office this time.

We doubt Moon will attend the event March 12 but it is still another cog in his world conquest. Let us explain.

This time it is his women’s front organization, the Women’s Federation for World Peace(WFWP) and the Universal Peace Federation(UPF) teaming up with a group which best we can tell is just now being caught in the Moon web, a group called Peace X Peace. Peace(by)Peace is a very well meaning organization with plenty of good work and will behind it. Surprising to see them joining with Moon’s efforts. However, they do seem perfect for Moon’s plans and his constant goal to draw in other groups and individuals to gain credibility for his “messianic” goals and claims.

Despite having made disparaging remarks about women in the past, Sun Myung Moon said a couple years ago he will increasingly use women as his face to push his world agenda, that woman should take the lead. Moon’s former daughter-in-law, who he brought to the USA underage and married her to his now deceased son, reported that when she told Moon and his wife about their son beating her when she was pregnant, they told her it was because she was not a good enough wife. Moon’s own daughter reported she received the same reply from her parents when she told them her husband beat her. (Link - hint you must click play a couple times to view video)

The WFWP is the group Moon started in the early 90s, using his wife as its face, and is most famous for its number one promoter, George Bush 41. Among other Bush family promotion of Moon’s “messianic” mission, Bush and his wife Barbara traveled to Japan and toured on the WFWP’s behalf in 1995, including one event in the Tokyo Dome attended by 50,000 people. During the tour, Bush would introduce Moon’s wife, Hak Ja Han - one of the “True Parents” or Moon’s co-messiah - and she would get up and tell the crowds that Moon was the only hope for America. Moon was not in Japan since he is not allowed into the country based on his felony tax conviction in the USA. Japan is the nation where the Unification Church has been found guilty by its highest courts of swindling hundreds of millions of dollars, targeting widows with their scams.

Moon’s agenda includes promoting the Universal Peace Federation as the “Abel” or his substitute United Nations and he also uses the UPF to prod the regular UN into becoming more theocratic - all part of his “messianic” mission. He has been increasingly successful in that effort though our media ignores it and those who are now promoting his ideas for theocratic mechanisms at the UN do not credit him. There is, however, a direct line from Moon to Saudi Arabia and the Philippines’ efforts in this regard, which can be documented.

The president of the Unification Church in the USA refers to the UPF as the “central dispensation of God.” The “Secretary General” of the UPF says that the UPF is Moon and his wife’s “instrument” to bring in the Kingdom.

Whenever Moon refers to God, or “God’s will,” he means God’s will as he interprets it. His organization teaches that Moon is God incarnate, the manifestation of God on earth, that he is the arbiter of God’s will. He teaches that Jesus Christ was a failure who is now serving Moon’s dead son in heaven. They teach that Moon is here to bring in the Kingdom. In fact, they refer to this “Kingdom” as the “Kingdom of the Universal Peace Federation.” The UPF is the culmination of Moon’s life long grand plan.

Read a little about the UPF, its battle cry of “One family under God” and how the Moon organization has made hundreds of millions of dollars to fund these activities by swindling widows - here in our previous post.

Moon said in 1999 he had all the pieces in place and that all he had to do now was “organize” the organization which he has been doing ever since. According to Michael Jenkins, the president of the UC or Family Federation for World Peace and Unification in the USA, their “church” district directors all now carry superior titles of “Chairman of the Universal Peace Federation.” Nothing Moon does is for any other reason than to implement his world “subjugation,” to “digest” the planet, to promote his ideology and bring him recognition as the “Messiah.”

Again, the third organization involved, “Peace X Peace,” appears to be new to the stable of groups sold on his effort, well meaning and we suspect with little real understanding of who Moon is and what he wants.

Here’s the link to the event - the notice/invitation says “Congresswomen” - to be determined - will be participating. The UPF office listed, btw, is in the Washington Times building.

If they are aware that the UPF and the WFWP are Moon front groups, the Peace X Peace organization is probably telling themselves that they are not being proselytized by the Moon followers so it is all OK - “they” aren’t promoting Moon as the messiah but just promoting “peace.” This rationalization has been used by many over the years. But it misses the point that Moon’s is not a group which conversion is its main goal at this time. They absorb others, promote his ideology and the language of his world view - all ultimately for the purpose of getting the world to accept his vision and his “messiah-ship.”

Here is a quote from James Whelan, the first editor of the Washington Times who left the paper saying he had “blood on his hands” for helping Moon gain credibility. It is from a talk he gave during a panel discussion in 1991. Also on the panel were Michael Warder and William Cheshire who were at one time editors in Moon’s media network too.

Quoting Whelan:

“They (the Moonies) are subverting our political system. They’re doing it through front organizations–most of them disguised–and through their funding of independent organizations–through the placement of volunteers in the inner sanctums of hard-pressed organizations. In every instance–in every instance–those who attend their conferences, those who accept their money or their volunteers, delude themselves that there is no loss of virtue because the Moonies have not proselytized. That misses the central, crucial point: the Moonies are a political movement in religious clothing. Moon seeks power, not the salvation of souls. To achieve that, he needs religious fanatics as his palace guard and shock troops. But more importantly, he needs secular conscripts–seduced by money, free trips, free services, seemingly endless bounty and booty–in order to give him respectability and, with it, that image of influence which translates as power.”

Thanks to Scoobie Davis’s and his blog, The Real Sun Myung Moon, for the above Whelan quote transcription.
